A healthy and fulfilling recipe for kulcha, that if you have just one of this you are set for the entire day!
Ingredients:
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- ½ cup suji
- ½ tablespoon salt
- Crushed ajwain
- 1 tablespoon curd
- A pinch of baking soda
- A pinch of baking powder
- ½ cup milk
For stuffing:
- 2-3 boiled and mashed potatoes
- ½ tablespoon salt
- ½ tablespoon Bhoj Masale Kashmiri red chilli powder
- ½ tablespoon Bhoj Masale garam masala
- ½ tablespoon Bhoj Masale bhuna jeera
- Coriander leaves
For Garnishing:
- 1 table spoon anardana powder
- Coriander leaves
Instructions:
- Prepare the flour: Mix 2 cups whole wheat flour, ½ cup suji, ½ tablespoon salt, crushed ajwain, 1 tablespoon curd, a pinch of baking soda, a pinch of baking powder and ½ cup milk and knead it to a soft dough. Set this aside.
- Stuffing: Place the prepared stuffing in the middle of the dough and seal it from all sides.
- Make the kulcha: Roll this once again and sprinkle some Bhoj Masale Kashmiri red chilli powder on top and roll it. Apply some water on the other side of the dough.
- Cook: Place this on a hot tava and cover and cook it for 2 minutes. Show the top side of the kulcha on the flame to give a smoky flavour.
- Serve this hot and enjoy!
Tips:
- Adding milk to knead the flour will help in making it soft as well as give a fluffy and tasty texture to the kulcha.
