Soya Pulao Recipe

A one pot recipe, which is easy and quick to make with all ingredients that are readily available at the comfort of your home.

 

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoon oil
  • 5-6 black pepper balls
  • 2-3 cloves
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 1 tablespoon jeera
  • 2-3 cardamom
  • 2-3 chopped green chillies
  • A small stick of ginger
  • 1-2 onions chopped
  • ½ tablespoon red chilli powder
  • ½ tablespoon dhaniya powder
  • 2-3 tomatoes chopped
  • ½ cup green peas
  • Salt as required
  • 1 bowl boiled soya chunks
  • 1 tablespoon  Bhoj Masale biryani masala
  • 1 cup soaked rice
  • Chopped coriander leaves

Instructions:

    1. Tempering: In a cooker, add 2 tablespoon of oil and to it add 5-6 black pepper balls, 2-3 cloves, 3 bay leaves, 1 tablespoon jeera, 2-3 cardamom, 2-3 chopped green chillies, a small stick of ginger and 1-2 onions chopped and saute it well.
    2. Add the masala: Now add ½ tablespoon red chilli powder, ½ tablespoon dhaniya powder, 2-3 tomatoes chopped, ½ cup green peas and salt as required and saute again.
  • Add the soya chunks: Add 1 bowl boiled soya chunks and 1 tablespoon  Bhoj Masale biryani masala  to the masala base and give it a good mix.
  • Add the rice : Add soaked rice to this along with water as required and give it a good mix.
  • Mix everything: Add chopped coriander leaves to the rice and adjust water as required and pressure cook it for 1 whistle on medium flame. 
    1. Serve it hot with some raita or chutney and enjoy!

    Tips:

    • Add the tomato after sauteing the onion, as tomatoes cook faster than onion and it will burn if kept for the same time as onion.
