Ingredients:
- 1 cup besan
- ¼ tablespoon turmeric powder
- ½ tablespoon red chilli powder
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder
- ½ tablespoon salt
- ½ tablespoon jeera
- ½ tablespoon ajwain
- A pinch of asafoetida
- 1 tablespoon oil
- Water as required
Seasoning:
- 1 tablespoon oil
- ½ tablespoon jeera
- ½ tablespoon mustard
- A pinch of hing
- 1 green chilli
- 1 tablespoon crushed ginger and garlic
- 1 onion
- 1 bowl curd
- ½ tablespoon turmeric powder
- ½ tablespoon red chilli
- 1 tablespoon coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- ½ tablespoon Bhoj Masale garam masala
- Coriander leaves
- KAsuri methi
Instructions:
- Make the dough: In a bowl, mix 1 cup besan, ¼ tablespoon turmeric powder, ½ tablespoon red chilli powder, 1 tablespoon coriander powder, ½ tablespoon salt, ½ tablespoon jeera, ½ tablespoon ajwain, a pinch of asafoetida, 1 tablespoon oil and water as required and knead it into a soft dough.
- Roll the dough: Roll the dough into strips and steam them in boiling water for a few minutes. Remove it from the water and cut it into small pieces.
- Make the seasoning: Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan and add ½ tablespoon jeera, ½ tablespoon mustard, a pinch of hing, 1 green chilli, 1 tablespoon crushed ginger and garlic and 1 onion chopped and mix well. Take 1 bowl of curd and to it add ½ tablespoon turmeric powder, ½ tablespoon red chilli, 1 tablespoon coriander powder and salt to taste and make a paste. Add the paste to the seasoning and saute well.
Tips:
- Add the garam masala at the end after the gravy is boiled for better results.
