A simple and straight forward recipe that is easy to prepare, especially coming handy on those days when you don’t want to make elaborate meals but want to relish something tasty!
Ingredients:
- 3 tablespoon oil
- ½ tablespoon mustard seeds
- ¼ tablespoon cumin seeds
- A pinch of asafoetida
- ¼ tablespoon turmeric powder
- ¼ tablespoon kashmiri chilli powder
- 5-6 curry leaves
- 3 medium size tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon dhania jeera
- 1.2 tablespoon red chilli powder
- 5 medium size boiled potatoes
- 1 glass water
- ¼ tablespoon Bhoj Masale sabji masala
- Handful of coriander leaves
- Salt as per taste
Instructions:
- Prepare the tempering: Heat 3 tablespoon of oil in a pan and to it add ½ tablespoon mustard seeds, ¼ tablespoon cumin seeds, a pinch of asafoetida, ¼ tablespoon turmeric powder, ¼ tablespoon kashmiri chilli powder, 5-6 curry leaves and 2 medium sized tomatoes chopped. Once the tomatoes become soft add 1 tablespoon dhania jeera, 1.2 tablespoon red chilli powder and Salt as per taste and mix well. Cover and cook on low flame for a few minutes.
- Add the masala: Add ¼ tablespoon Bhoj Masale sabji masala to the gravy and mix well.
- Garnish: Finally, garnish it with a handful of coriander leaves on the top.
- Serve the sabji hot with some roti and enjoy!
Tips:
- Adding one mashed potato will help in giving thick consistency to the sabji.
