A north Indian delicacy that every Indian craves for! Try this at home for a special occasion or otherwise and see how people fall in love with the recipe.
Ingredients:
- 1 bowl boiled chole (chickpeas) or as per requirement
- ½ cup tomato
- ½ cup onion
- 3-4 green chillies chopped
- ½ cup coriander leaves chopped
- ½ tablespoon chaat masala
- 1 tablespoon red chilli powder
- 1 tablespoon Bhoj Masale coriander powder
- ½ tablespoon garam masala
- ½ cup mint chutney
- ½ cup tamarind puree
- ½ lemon juice
- Salt as required
For Gravy base:
- 2 small butter cubes
- 1 tablespoon Bhoj Masale Kashmiri red chilli powder
- 1 onion diced
- 1 tomato diced
- Shaved ginger
- Water as required
Instructions:
- Prepare the chole: In a bowl, mix 1 bowl boiled chole (chickpeas) or as per requirement, ½ cup tomato, ½ cup onion, 3-4 green chillies chopped and ½ cup coriander leaves chopped and mix well.
- Prepare the gravy base: Heat 2 cubes of butter in a pan and add 1 tablespoon Bhoj Masale Kashmiri red chilli powder, 1 onion diced and 1 tomato diced and saute well.
- Garnish it with some shaved ginger and coriander leaves.
- Serve it hot with some rotis and enjoy!
Tips:
- Adding tamarind and lemon helps in balancing out the flavours while also bringing all the flavours together.
