We usually throw out the skin of the peas, but have you ever wondered if you can cook the skin? Along with various nutritional benefits, this recipe is tasty and different from the usual routine.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup fresh peas
- ! tablespoon mustard oil
- 1 tablespoon jeera
- A pinch of asafoetida
- ½ cup ginger and garlic chopped
- 2-3 green chillies chopped
- 1-2 onions finely chopped
- 1-2 potato chopped
- 1 chopped tomato
Seasoning:
- ½ tablespoon Bhoj Masale turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon Bhoj Masale coriander powder
- ½ tablespoon Bhoj Masale Kashmiri red chili powder
- ½ salt
Instructions:
- Peel the peas: Take one bowl of fresh peas and remove the skin of the peas neatly and keep it aside.
- Make the tempering: In a pan, add 1 tablespoon of mustard oil and to it add 1 tablespoon jeera, a pinch of asafoetida, ½ cup ginger and garlic chopped, 2-3 green chillies chopped, 1-2 onions finely chopped and 1-2 potato chopped and saute it all well. Close and cook this for 2-3 minutes.
- Serve it hot with some rice and daal and enjoy!
Tips:
- Add the tomato at the end to give a tangy flavour to balance the bitter taste from the skin of the peas.
