Masaledar Chole Recipe

Tasty and masala filled chole recipe for the days when you are craving for something tasty but also healthy at the same time. 

Ingredients:

  • 2 green chillies
  • 2 inch ginger
  • 1 green capsicum
  • Coriander leaves with a little bit of stem
  • 3 tomatoes
  • ½ tablespoon turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoon kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 2 tablespoon coriander powder
  • 2 tablespoon  Bhoj Masale chole masala
  • 4 tablespoon oil
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • ½ tablespoon asafoetida
  • 1 bowl boiled chole 
  • 2 tablespoon ghee
  • 1 tablespoon fenugreek

Instructions:

    1. Prepare the tomato paste: Add 2 green chillies slit, 2 inch ginger, 1 green capsicum, coriander leaves with a little bit of stem and 3 tomatoes in a mixer and make a fine paste.
    2. Make the masala paste: Add ½ tablespoon turmeric powder, 2 tablespoon kashmiri red chilli powder, 2 tablespoon coriander powder and 2 tablespoon  Bhoj Masale chole masala along with some water and make it a paste.
  • Tempering: Add 4 tablespoons of oil in a pan, and add 1 tablespoon cumin and ½ tablespoon asafoetida and saute well. Add the prepared masala paste and give it a good mix.  Cook for 2 minutes. After the oil separates and the raw smell of the masala goes away, mix the tomato paste prepared and mix well. Cook tis for 4-5 minutes.
  • Add the chole: Add the boiled chole along with the water and some salt to this and mix thoroughly. Cook for 5 minutes.
    1. Garnish it with 1 tablespoon of ghee and 1 tablespoon of fenugreek.
    2. Serve it hot with some rotis or rice and enjoy!

    Tips:

    • Add the masala paste before the tomato paste since masala needs more time to cook for the raw smell to go.
