Lauki Chana Dal ki Sabji

If you do not like to eat plain lauki sabji, then try this healthy lauki chana dal ki sabji. It is a simple dish that can be made with a few ingredients but nutritious. 

 

 

Ingredients:

  • Bottle gourd/ Lauki
  • 1 tablespoon  Bhoj Masale Garam Masala
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Jeera - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt as required
  • Green chillies 
  • Ginger garlic paste
  • Onion
  • Tomato 
  • Curry leaves
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp jeera powder
  • ½ tsp coriander powder
  • Water as required

Instructions:

  • Prepare the tadka: In a cooker, heat 1 tablespoon of oil, add jeera, split green chillies, onions, and ginger garlic paste. Saute well until the raw smell goes.
  • Mix the ingredients: Now, add dal that is washed and soaked for 1 hour along with chopped lauki to the tadka and combine well. Let it cook for a few minutes. 
  • Cook the dal: Add 1 tablespoon Bhoj Masale Garam Masala mixed with other spice powders like turmeric powder, red chilli powder, jeera powder, salt and coriander powder to the dal and lauki. Cook them for 2 to 3 whistles.
    1. Plate the dal along with any food of your choice and enjoy!

    Tips:

    • Soaking the dal for at least 1-2 hours helps in cooking the dal better and quicker.
