Kashmiri Dum Aaloo Recipe

Delicious and healthy recipe that does not require any onions or garlic which makes it a perfect dish for festivals and vrats without any compromise to the taste!

 


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup curd
  • 1 tablespoon coriander powder
  • 1 tablespoon  Bhoj Masale kitchen king masala
  • 4-5 dry red chillies 
  • 12-15 boiled baby potatoes
  • ½ tablespoon cumin seeds
  • ¼ tablespoon turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon kashmiri red chilli powder
  • ⅛ tablespoon asafoetida
  • 1 tablespoon saunf
  • ½ tablespoon kasuri methi
  • ¼ tablespoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste 

Instructions:

    1. Prepare the curd base: Take one bowl of curd and to it add 1 tablespoon coriander powder and 1 tablespoon  Bhoj Masale kitchen king masala. Make a paste ut of 405 dry red chillies by soaking it in hot water and add it to the curd as well. Mix everything well and set it aside.
    2. Make the potatoes:  Make small holes in the boiled baby potatoes with a fork and fry it in oil until it turns medium brown. 
  • Prepare the gravy base: Heat some oil in a pan and add ½ tablespoon cumin seeds, ¼ tablespoon turmeric powder, 1 tablespoon kashmiri red chilli powder, ⅛ tablespoon asafoetida and saute it all well.
  • Mix everything: Add the prepared curd mix to the gravy base, and mix it thoroughly. Add 1 tablespoon saunf, ½ tablespoon kasuri methi, ¼ tablespoon garam masala and salt as per taste and combine well.  After mixing it well, add the fried potatoes and mix it well.
    1. Garnish it with some finely chopped fresh coriander leaves.
    2. Plate it hot with some basmati rice or parathas and enjoy!

    Tips:

    • Baby potatoes will taste better for this recipe. 
    • Do not let the potatoes get too crispy for this recipe.
