A twist to your mundane daily routine, a sabji with the potential to compete with chicken or mutton curries!

Ingredients:

Instructions:

    1. Cook the jackfruit: Cut the jackfruit into small pieces and add it to a cooker. To it add 1 glass of water, ½ tablespoon of turmeric powder and ½ tablespoon of salt and pressure cook it on medium flame for 2 whistles. Remove the jackfruit from the cooker after it gets cooked and set it aside.
  • Fry the jackfruit: Fry the cooked jackfruit in 1 ½ tablespoon of mustard oil and remove it from the pan. Set this aside.
  • Prepare the spice mix: To the same pan, add 2 cinnamon sticks, 1 black cardamom, 3 green cardamom, 4-5 cloves, 4-5 black pepper seeds and 2 bay leaves and saute well.
  • Add the veggies: Add 3 onions diced, 2 tablespoon ginger garlic paste and 2 tomato cut and mix well.
  • Add the masala: Add ½ tablespoon  Bhoj Masale turmeric powder, 1 tablespoon  Bhoj Masale red chilli powder, 1 tablespoon  Bhoj Masale kashmiri red chilli powder, 2 tablespoon  Bhoj Masale coriander powder, ½ tablespoon  Bhoj Masale kitchen king masala, ½ tablespoon  Bhoj Masale garam masala  and 1 tablespoon salt and mix it well with the other ingredients.
  • Add the jackfruit: Add the prepared jackfruit to the mix and combine well. Add 2 glasses of water and cover and cook until the jackfruit is cooked well.
    1. Garnish: Once the jackfruit is properly cooked, switch off the stove and add some cut up coriander leaves on the top.
    2. Plate the jackfruit sabji with some hot rice or rotis and enjoy!

    Tips:

    • Steam cook the jackfruit before frying it otherwise it will be too raw and hard.
