Instant one pot recipe for a quick and tasty chole dish which can be served with puris or rice or any meal of your choice!
Ingredients:
- 250 gram soaked white chickpeas
- 3-4 tablespoon oil
- 1 tablespoon cumin seeds
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 star anise
- 1 black cardamom
- 3-4 cloves
- 4-5 black pepper balls
- 2 onion paste
- 2 chopped green chillies
- 2 tomato puree
- 1 tablespoon Bhoj Masale red chilli powder
- 1 tablespoon Bhoj Masale coriander powder
- ½ tablespoon Bhoj Masale Bhuna Jeera
- 1 tablespoon Bhoj Masale chole masala
- ¼ tablespoon Bhoj Masale turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
- Water as required
- 2 glass water
- Chopped coriander leaves
Instructions:
- Prepare the chickpeas: Soak 250 grams of white chickpeas in water. Once the size increases, remove few chickpeas from this and grind it into a paste and set it aside.
- Prepare the flavouring for chickpeas: In a pan, heat 3-4 tablespoon oil and to it add 1 tablespoon cumin seeds, 1 bay leaf, 1 cinnamon stick, 1 star anise, 1 black cardamom, 3-4 cloves and 4-5 black pepper balls and saute well.
- Prepare the gravy base: Add 2 onion paste, 2 chopped green chillies and 2 tomato puree to this and mix well.
- Add the masala: Add 1 tablespoon Bhoj Masale red chilli powder, 1 tablespoon Bhoj Masale coriander powder, ½ tablespoon Bhoj Masale Bhuna Jeera, 1 tablespoon Bhoj Masale chole masala, ¼ tablespoon Bhoj Masale turmeric powder, salt to taste and mix well ntill the oil separates. To this add 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste and the grinded chickpeas paste and mix well. Adjust water as needed. Saute this for 4-5 minutes.
- Add some chopped coriander leaves and whistle cook it in cooker for 4-5 whistles on medium flame.
- The tasty chole is now ready to be served with hot-hot puris.
Tips:
- Grinding the chickpeas and adding it to the gravy gives a very good consistency, taste and flavour.
