Instant Amla Pickle Recipe

Instant and easy recipe for making amla pickle that can be relished with your daily meals or can even replace curries for the days when you are in a rush or don’t have the time to prepare elaborate meals!





    1. Boil the amla: Boil 10-12 amlas in water for about 8-10 minutes. Once boiled well, remove the seeds and slice each amla into 4 pieces. Set this aside.
    2. Make the spice mix ready: Roast 1 cup mustard seeds, ½ cup jeera, ½ cup dhaniya, ½ cup methi, ¼ cup black pepper balls, ½ cup saunf and 4 dry red chillies in a pan for 2 minutes. Grind them to a coarse powder.
  • Prepare the seasoning: Heat 1 cup of mustard oil in a pan. In a separate bowl, mix 1 tablespoon Bhoj Masale turmeric powder, 1 tablespoon Bhoj Masale Kashmiri red chili powder, ½ tablespoon asafoetida and 1 tablespoon salt. Pour the hot mustard oil over this and mix well. Add 10-12 green chillies slit to this and combine everything well.
  • Add the amla: Add the prepared amla to this mixture and let it cool and marinate for 1-2 hours.
    1. Tasty and delicious amla pickle is ready now! You can store it and use it whenever required.


    • Using mustard oil for making desi pickle will enhance the taste better than other types of oil.
