A healthy and quick recipe for a lip smacking meal. Try this Jowar pulao which is gluten-free, healthy but nevertheless tasty!
Ingredients:
- 1 bowl Jowar
- ½ tablespoon mustard seeds
- ½ tablespoon cumin
- 1 Onion
- 2 green chillies
- ½ bowl beans
- ¼ bowl cauliflower
- ½ bowl carrot
- ½ tablespoon turmeric powder
- ¼ bowl peas
- 1 ½ tablespoon Bhoj Masale turmeric powder
- ½ lemon
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
- Cook the Jowar: Take one bowl of Jowar in a cooker and water equally and salt as required and cook it for 1-2 steams. After it is cooked, strain the jowar and set it aside.
- Cook the vegetables: Heat some oil in a pan and add ½ tablespoon mustard seeds, ½ tablespoon cumin, 1 onion chopped, 2 green chillies cut, ½ bowl beans, ¼ bowl cauliflower and ½ bowl carrot and mix thoroughly. After cooking it for some time, add ½ tablespoon turmeric powder and ¼ bowl peas. Add some water and bring all the ingredients together. Now, add 1 ½ tablespoon Bhoj Masale turmeric powder to this and mix well. Cover and cook for 5 minutes.
Tips:
- Use a strainer to remove the excess water from jowar after steaming.
