Tasty and healthy dalma recipe which also happens to be a one pot recipe saving you all the time and trouble from washing so many utensils after a scrumptious meal!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup chana dal
- ½ cup toor dal
- ½ cup masoor dal
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1 onion
- 2 green chillies
- A spoon of ginger and garlic minced
- 1-2 carrots
- ¼ cup peas
- 3-4 small pieces of drumstick
- 1-2 potatoes
- 3-4 beans
- 1 tablespoon salt
- ½ tablespoon turmeric powder
- ½ tablespoon coriander powder
- Water as required
For tempering:
- 1 tablespoon oil
- ½ tablespoon mustard seeds
- 1 tablespoon jeera
- ½ tablespoon asafoetida
- 1 dry red chilli
For seasoning:
- ½ tablespoon Bhoj Masale garam masala
- Coriander leaves
Instructions:
- Soak the dal: Soak 1 cup chana dal, ½ cup toor dal and ½ cup masoor dal in water and let it soak for a few minutes.
- Prepare the base for daal: In a cooker, add 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and saute 1 onion, 2 green chillies and a spoon of ginger and garlic minced well in it. Add 1-2 carrots, ¼ cup peas, 3-4 small pieces of drumstick, 1-2 potatoes and 3-4 beans or any vegetables of your choice and mix well.
- Serve it hot with some rice and enjoy!
Tips:
- Using coconut oil for cooking desi dishes will enhance the taste.
