Quick and tasty recipe for dal makhni that only requires one masala to prepare. Try this now to experience the taste of desi flavours packed in one meal.
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon desi ghee
- 1-2 chopped onions
- 1-2 chopped tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon Bhoj Masale dal makhni masala
- 1 cup boiled black lentils
- ½ cup cream
- Coriander leaves
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
- Prepare the masala: In a pan ,add 1 tablespoon desi ghee, 1-2 chopped onions, 1-2 chopped tomatoes, salt as required and 1 tablespoon Bhoj Masale dal makhni masala and saute well.
- Add the daal: Add 1 cup boiled black lentils to this masala and mix well for 2 minutes. Add the daal water from straining the daal and mix well.
- Mash the daal: Mash the daal nicely while cooking. Cover and cook for 30 minutes.
- Garnish: Add ½ cup cream and coriander leaves on the top.
- Serve it hot with rotis or rice and enjoy!
Tips:
- Using the strained water from dal adds on to flavour and also is a sustainable way to save water.
- If you use Bhoj Masale dal makhni masala, you do not have to use any other masala, since this includes all of it.
