Try this quick and easy recipe for rajma for lunch or dinner, and pair it with some rice for a satisfying meal!
Ingredients:
- 1 bowl of soaked rajma
- 4-5 tomatoes
- 2-3 green chillies slit
- ½ tablespoon saunf
- ½ tablespoon melon seeds
- ½ tablespoon dry ginger powder
- 1 tablespoon Bhoj Masale Kashmiri red chilli powder
- 1 tablespoon Bhoj Masale rajma masala
- ½ tablespoon jeera
- ½ tablespoon coriander powder
- ½ tablespoon garam masala
- 1 tablespoon red chilli powder
- ½ tablespoon kasuri methi
- ½ tablespoon ghee
Instructions:
- Cook the rajma: soak the rajma in water for 4-5 hours and cook it in a cooker for 8-9 whistles.
- Prepare the tomato puree: In a mixer, blend 4-5 tomatoes, 2-3 green chillies slit, ½ tablespoon saunf, ½ tablespoon melon seeds and ½ tablespoon dry ginger powder and make a smooth tomato puree.
- Add masala to the gravy base: Heat a tablespoon of oil in a pan and add 1 tablespoon of red chilli powder and mix the prepared tomato puree to it. To this, add 1 tablespoon coriander powder, 1 tablespoon Bhoj Masale Kashmiri red chilli powder, 1 tablespoon Bhoj Masale rajma masala, ½ tablespoon coriander powder, ½ tablespoon garam masala and mix well.
- Bring all the ingredients together: Add the prepared rajma to this gravy and combine everything well.
- Garnish: Add some crushed kasuri methi on top of the gravy.
- Serve hot rajma with some rice and enjoy!
Tips:
- The rajma cooks more quickly if it is soaked before cooking..
- Cook it for a minimum of 5-6 whistles for it to mash completely.
