Tasty and healthy besan kofta recipe which can become your kids favourite who would otherwise not want to eat bottle gourd. Try this recipe at home or for your kids lunch box recipe and enjoy!
Ingredients:
- 1 bottle gourd
- 1 cup besan
- 1-2 green chillies
- 1 inch ginger
- ½ tablespoon of turmeric powder
- ¼ tablespoon salt
For Gravy:
- 1 onion chopped
- 1 inch ginger
- 5-6 cloves of garlic
- 4-5 green chillies
- 1-2 tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon Bhoj Masale garam masala
- ½ tablespoon Bhoj Masale red chilli powder
- 1 tablespoon Bhoj Masale coriander powder
- ½ tablespoon Bhoj Masale turmeric powder
- ½ tablespoon salt
- ½ tablespoon jeera
- Water as required
For garnishing:
- Coriander leaves
- 1 tablespoon dry fenugreek (Kasuri methi)
Instructions:
- Prepare the kofta base: Peel the skin of bottle gourd and grate it well. Squeeze the water from the grated pieces and add 1 cup besan, 1-2 green chillies, 1 inch ginger, ½ tablespoon of turmeric powder and ¼ tablespoon salt and knead everything together. Make the dough into balls of small to medium sizes.
- Fry: Fry the balls in half a pan of oil. Set this aside.
Tips:
- Mixing the masala with gravy before cooking them will help in the mixing of masala properly and helps in not overcooking/burning the masala.
