Bengal is known for its varied seafood cuisine and this simple yet effective Bengali fish curry recipe is a must try for all the fish lovers out there!
Ingredients:
- 3-4 pieces of fish (as per choice)
- 2 small cups of turmeric powder
- 2 dry red chillies
- 1 tablespoon jeera
- 2 small tomatoes
- 1 small cup ginger garlic paste
- Salt as per taste
- ½ tablespoon red chilli powder
- 4 green chilies
- ½ tablespoon Bhoj Masale fish curry masala
- Water as required
- Coriander leaves
Instructions:
- Marinate the fish: Add 2 small cups of turmeric powder to the fish and coat the fish with turmeric powder properly.
- Fry the fish: Heat oil in a pan and add the fish to it. Fry the fish until it turns medium brown and remove it from the pan and set it aside.
- Prepare the fish gravy: In the same pan, heat some oil and add 2 dry red chillies, 1 tablespoon jeera, 2 small tomatoes cut into medium pieces, 1 small cup ginger garlic paste, ½ tablespoon red chilli powder, ½ tablespoon Bhoj Masale fish curry masala and salt as per taste and mix thoroughly. Add water as required and mix well. Now, add the fish along with 4 green chillies slit and close the lid. Cook until the fish is soft and the raw smell goes.
- Garnish the gravy with some coriander leaves and the bengali fish curry is now ready to be devoured!
Tips:
- Coat the fish properly with turmeric powder to remove the raw smell, sanitise and add flavour.
